Transmission/Transfer Case Length Combinations (1) no output shaft change necessary, includes only the casting; ideal for existing 4WD transmission (2) output shaft change necessary (3) uses stock adaptor, 6 1/2" + 7/8" adaptor (4) uses stock adaptor, 9 3/8" + 7/8" adaptor (6) adaptor also works with TH350 (7) uses stock casting with new output shaft (9) uses stock casting (11) Uses the 51-6400 Casting/Housing and mates up to a 32 spline Atlas (12) To mate up an AOD 4WD to the Atlas using the stock 28 spline input, a 2" thick spacer can be used (available through AA) (13) The AOD-E/4R70W has a different output shaft than the AOD in reference to the oiling holes. Since the AOD-E does not have a governor, the oil supply line must be plugged. All kits for the AOD can be used on the AOD-E/4R70W, but you will have to obtain a few parts from Ford. The parts will cost approximately $9.00. They are:
